Many of us have experienced challenges when it comes to understanding how our food choices affect how we feel on a daily basis, such as:

Problem
01

Being caught in a never-ending cycle of energy crashes and mood swings, struggling to maintain consistent energy across the day.

Problem
02

Dealing with mood swings, anxiety or emotional fluctuations, and finding it challenging to understand how food choices may be playing their role.

Problem
03

Emotional eating or stress-related eating keeps derailing your journey towards optimal health, and you find it challenging to break this cycle.

INTRODUCING

Food and Mood: The Glucose Connection

We’re excited to introduce you to continuous glucose monitoring (CGM), an advanced technology that offers valuable insights into your body’s reactions to different foods. While CGMs are commonly associated with managing diabetes, they have also become a valuable tool for those without diabetes who want to understand how their bodies respond to various foods.

A growing body of evidence suggests a relationship between mood and blood-sugar, or glycemic, highs and lows. Symptoms of poor glycemic regulation have been shown to closely mirror mental health symptoms, such as irritability, anxiety, and worry. This should come as no surprise, as the brain runs primarily on glucose.

It is now recognised that paying closer attention to our blood sugar levels could be a valuable tool in pursuing optimal mood and mental health.

By wearing a CGM, you can monitor your glucose levels in real-time, allowing you to observe how your body reacts to different meals and snacks. This personalised data can help you make informed choices about your diet, optimise your energy levels, and work towards improved health and well-being.

It’s an innovative way to gain a deeper understanding of how your body uniquely responds to the foods you enjoy.

Remember, the data can only get you so far – this programme helps you learn what it means and what you can do about it. A core goal of this programme is to empower you with information and tools on managing your blood sugar, including simple hacks for tighter control of glucose levels that work for you and your life.

Meet your expert – Bronwyn Hudson

Kia ora, I’m Bronwyn Hudson (MSc – Personalised Nutrition), a Registered Clinical Nutritionist and Certified Mental Health Coach, specialising in helping people to connect their dots between food and mood.

As I am moving through my 40s, I started noticing signs that I may not be balancing my blood glucose levels as well as I naturally did when I was younger. When I first used a continuous glucose monitor (CGM), I was fascinated at seeing how different foods spiked my blood sugar, and seeing the role stress, sleep and exercise played too.

I was equally fascinated seeing how easy it was to include some of the blood sugar hacks I had been teaching clients over the years could move my levels back into a really tight range.

I noticed that I experienced symptoms often related to anxiety when my glucose levels crashed after spikes, and that these became far less common when I kept my glucose in a tighter range. My energy across the day was more balanced too.

I am so excited to bring you this programme, so you can have a front row seat on your own levels, learn my smart hacks, and support improved metabolic health and mental health – it’s all connected.

What others are saying

Faqs

As well as getting your own personalised data into your hands, and the knowledge of how to interpret it, you also have mini-modules released daily over the two weeks to help you learn more about how metabolic health and mental health are connected, how we measure metabolic health, the impact of stress, sleep and hormones on insulin sensitivity, cravings and how we can minimise them, and a whole lot of tweaks you can make that are workable and sustainable that support better glucose control.

No! What a great chance to test a variety of life situations. It isn’t about eating perfectly while wearing the CGM, but rather about being curious and learning about how a whole range of foods affect your glucose and moods. This is the perfect time!

The coaching calls are at 12 noon NZT each Monday, Wednesday and Friday during the programme. These will be recorded if you missed out.

No problem. We record all the sessions, and you can always upload your screenshots with questions to our private group feed to get feedback on. If possible, I recommend trying to make 2 group sessions a week, but if that doesn’t work you won’t miss out.

For the main sensor we use, you will require an NFC enabled phones (paywave) on an Android running 8.0 or higher, or an iPhone 8 upwards, running iOS 15.5 or higher.

Our check-in calls provide a platform for you to share your experiences, ask questions, and learn from both our expert, Bronwyn Hudson, and fellow participants. It’s a supportive and collaborative environment where you can gain insights and offer support to others.

Each sensor lasts just 14 days and then will stop sending signals to your phone and will need to be removed. If you would like to wear a sensor for longer, let us know and we can provide you with extra sensors.

Yes. This can be a great way to monitor for gestational diabetes and/or support balanced blood sugars while pregnant.

Yes! This programme will be run again in 2024. Please join my active waiting list to stay informed and get a few things to work on in the meantime.
